About Me

Capturing Life’s Moments, One Frame at a Time.

my story

Danniell Sineath, born in San Diego, California, and raised in Ridgeville, South Carolina, has always been deeply influenced by the vast Lowcountry landscapes and their ever-changing light. As a single mother of three teenagers, she understands the fleeting nature of time—how quickly moments slip away—and this awareness fuels her passion for photography. What began as an early love for film photography, capturing fragments of everyday life and weaving them into collages, evolved into a profound way of understanding the world.

Inspired by photographers like Flora Borsi, Hiroshi Sugimoto, and Sara Hadley, Danniell developed an appreciation for photography’s ability to explore transformation, identity, and metaphor through surreal storytelling. Initially drawn to black-and-white photography for its emotional depth, she was captivated by how contrast and shadow could shape an image’s impact. Over time, she realized that light and texture were equally powerful tools—how warmth could soften a moment, cool tones could deepen a mood, and every detail contributed to a richer, more immersive atmosphere.

A defining moment in her journey came during South Carolina’s 100-year flood. Amid the devastation, she captured an image that changed everything. The stillness, the weight, the quiet power of that photograph made her realize photography wasn’t just about aesthetics—it was about memory, transformation, and bearing witness. That single image solidified her understanding of photography’s power: to freeze time, to reveal hidden narratives, and to tell stories that linger long after the shutter clicks.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in fine art, Danniell found herself at a crossroads, unsure how to define her artistic voice. She knew she wanted more—more depth, more clarity, more purpose in her work—but wasn’t certain how to reach it. Determined to push her creative boundaries, she enrolled at the Academy of Art University, where she immersed herself in the study of metaphors, narrative, and visual storytelling. The Academy provided a space to refine her vision, challenge her instincts, and ultimately develop a style that felt uniquely her own.

As both an artist and a mother, Danniell sees photography as a way to honor the passage of time—capturing the beauty in both transformation and stillness. Her work is a reflection of her journey: ever-evolving, deeply intentional, and rooted in the profound understanding that every moment, no matter how small, holds significance.
